TOP VASE 2022
Top Vase Competition Rules
The Top Vase winner will receive £15.
The Top Vase class is for a vase of between 5-10 mixed, flowering stems. These should be taken from a minimum of two different kinds of plants. NOTE two varieties of the same plant are NOT two kinds of plants, i.e. Pinks, Carnations and Sweet William are all dianthus.
The display is judged out of a total of 35 points; 25 points for the colour, form, condition, quality and freshness of the flowers on display; 10 points for the overall presentation and effect of the flowers in the vase. NOTE the vase will be viewed from all directions.
Stems shall bear flowers not seed heads or berries.
The vase may be of any shape, size or material, but should be in proportion to the display. The vase shall receive no marks.
No accessories such as bows or additional foliage are allowed. Foliage growing naturally from the flowering stem and still attached, is allowed. Florist Foam, such as Oasis, is not allowed.
No dried or artificial flowers are allowed.
Flowering stems can be from any flowering plant.
Judging points and remarks shall be displayed upon the entry cards.
Judge’s decisions are final, any other matters arising shall be decided upon by the Flower Show officials.
